Hi… It’s been ages since I wrote.. I havn’t yet got into the habit of having a blog, and keeping it interesting with new posts. Sorry.
Work has finished for me.. I feel like I am now an ‘official’ missionary, of sorts…. concentrating on getting ready to leave for Japan… visiting churches, filling out paperwork, doing Japan presentations. It’s all a bit fun, but still seems quite weird.
The big news is that we have a house to move into when we get to Japan. Small, but nice, an old bakery converted into a house which the Kusatsu church owns… I think it’s fantastic that we can go straight from the plane to our new house… and not have to live with another missionary until we find a flat for ourselves.. and we are just down the road from a WEC German couple so if we get stuck and confused about something… which I have no doubt will happen.. we arn’t totally alone either!
This week we packed our boxes for Japan. We have 5 boxes plus my guitar. We thought we would have to send them next week to get them to Japan by the time we get there (10 weeks)… but the moving company told us today it will only take about 4 – 5 weeks to arrive in Osaka port… so we can have another month of thinking through if we have packed the right things!
On Sunday we are doing our first ‘official’ service at a church called Sassafras, where Ben used to pastor at. I hope that it goes really well and that they can really catch our vision and excitement.
